As an introvert you need time alone to recharge and regroup. Here are some of the best hobbies for introverts. Including some for when you want to be alone and some for when you want to be a little social.
Best hobbies for introverts:
1.Start a blog
If I can do it, you can do it!
There is SO much information on the internet that you can find and learn how to create a blog without any real tech skills.
2. Listen to podcasts
There’s SO many podcasts out there, basically on every topic. If you like personal development, humour, true crime, manifestation or basically anything else, there’s a podcast for that!
3. Learn a new language
Programs like duolingo, make it easier and more accessible to learn a new language.
Why not try to learn a language you’ve always been intrigued by.
4.Creative hobbies/Art
- learn to paint (there are free tutorials, available on YouTube etc. and you don’t have to buy expensive supplies. Just start with some inexpensive watercolours and brushes to experiment and see if you like it!)
- Drawing
- Colouring books-adult colouring books can be fun and relaxing, and you can also flex your creative muscles-even for the most “uncreative”.
5. Learn to play the keyboard
You can get an inexpensive keyboard from stores like amazon or walmart and learn through youtube tutorials. There’s tutorials out there for every skill level and free resources to learn the basics too!
6. Running
Go at your own pace and track your progress. Running can keep you fit and double as a fun hobby.
You can also join 5K runs in your area or virtual races that you can do independently, you just need a smart watch to sync your results. They even send you a metal in the mail!
7. Dancing
For people who don’t like to run, why not try dancing. The perfect solo hobby for introverts! You can watch a youtube tutorial, (yes, youtube literally has a video for everything!) and learn a simple dance or follow along. Or you can just dance your little heart out. There are no rules here.
8. Biking
Another great, healthy hobby you can do independently. You can explore new places or trails and enjoy the calm scenery.
9. Trampoline fitness
Random I know, BUT it’s so fun and a great workout. It promotes a healthy lymphatic system and it’s easy on the body. (Again tons of free YouTube tutorials and workouts you can workout along with the video.)
10. Gardening
Gardening can be one of the best hobbies for introverts. If you have the patience it is so rewarding to take care of a little plant and watch it grow. There’s plenty of easy beginner friendly plants, and you could have your very own fresh veggies, straight from the garden.
11. Yoga
You can take a yoga class or just practise by yourself. Yoga is a good hobby for your health, fitness and mind.
12. Nature walks/hiking
Exploring nature and new places is a great hobby for introverts. You can breathe the fresh air, enjoy the calmness and beauty of nature and get away from the world for a while.
Note: Be cautious if you’re going to do this one solo, I do recommend you bring a friend if you’re going to be hiking.
13. Candle making
Candle making is a great hobby because:
- It’s decently easy to get the supplies you need. (Amazon, walmart, Michael’s crafts sells wax pellets, scents, colours molds etc.- I recommend soy wax), silicone molds, glass containers (just make sure the glass is suitable and thick enough to handle the heat/temperature of the wax-or else it could shatter)
- You can make adorable, personalized, handmade gifts for people.
- It doesn’t have to be complicated, you can go as simple or complicated as you want.
14. Soap making/crafting
- Can be super easy with a melt and pour soap base or advanced if you want to create your own batch of soap with lye
- Check out this melt and pour soap tutorial if you’re interested in seeing how easy and adorable it really is!
- Soap making is so fun, you can get inexpensive essential oils for scent and silicone molds to make basically any shape you want….check out these, super easy to make donut soaps.
- soap making and crafting is the perfect hobbies for introverts. It’s independent, creative and you can give your creations as gifts to friends and family!
If you want to meet other people, with similar interests, without all the pressure, here are some introvert approved hobbies that you can do to be a little social.
15. Yoga or Fitness Classes-Join a class
I know I already mentioned yoga, but you can join a yoga or fitness class at a local gym. Get there early and pick a spot in the back. Everyone is just there to workout, so you don’t have to talk much.
16. Running group
There are lots of groups where you can sign up, you meet at a location and just go for a run.
You can bring a friend, or go alone. There’s no pressure to have a long winded conversation with anyone because you’re all there to run. (If you’re a beginner runner, don’t worry, there are lots of different levels you can join…just look for a beginner, or even walking friendly group)
17. Take a class or a seminar
If there’s a topic or skill that interests you, sign up for a class or a seminar!
