For a long time I struggled to make any real, lasting changes in my life. I had the knowledge, the resources but I still felt stuck on how to make it happen. However, now I am happy to say that I finally cracked the code. These are the 5 ways to shift your identity that I learned through a long journey of trial and error.
If you know anything about the law of attraction and manifestation, you know that they preach that the key is to “feel and act as if”.
You have to feel and act as if you already have exactly what you want, thus attracting it into your physical reality. But how the heck do you just ignore your current physical reality and change the way you feel. Yes, it is a difficult task but I am happy to report that IT IS POSSIBLE!

In theory this makes sense but the difficult part for most people is actually getting to this place of feeling and acting as if they already have what they desire.

Thought, feeling and emotion become one we change our outer world.
Thought and emotion must be married together. Which causes feeling.
This is how to crack the code. How to shift into the feeling and emotions. Most people can get the thought part down. Saying affirmations, thinking positive thoughts, thinking about what they want. The part that is the most difficult and yet the most important is the feeling and emotion half of the equation.
I can tell myself I am worthy of love, I am loved, I am beautiful but if deep down I still FEEL the opposite that is what I will continue to get.

This is where people get stuck. How do I change the way I feel when that emotion is so deeply rooted in me? It is difficult and scary to take the leap into the new and unknown but that is exactly what you need to do.

These are the 5 Ways to Shift Your Identity:
1. Change your routine
Change your routine to what you’d do if you already had what you want in your physical hands NOW.
Try this exercise:
- Get a paper and a pen
- Write down exactly what you want. (eg. a new job, a promotion, your soulmate etc.)
- Visualize yourself as having this life/whatever it is that you are wanting (TIP: if you have a hard time visualizing yourself, try visualizing another person who has everything that you want)
- Write down what they look like, what they do, how they speak, how they act, what is their routine?
- Eg. If they have a new job what does their morning routine look like with this new job? Do they wake up at a specific time or have to do something specific. Maybe they have to dress more professionally or speak with more authority and confidence.
- Now create a routine that you can do where you fit these types of actions into your life.
2. Change your appearance to shift your identity
The way you look and preceive your appearance plays a big role in how you feel and ultimately the energy you will vibrate at.
Even if you work from home! Get dressed, put yourself together at least enough that you wouldn’t be embarrassed if someone came to the door. You can still be comfy, look presentable and put together. Believe me I am BIG on comfy, but I noticed when I’d stay in my pjs all day I would feel crappy and be less productive.

Adding jewelry or small pieces to your wardrobe that make you feel more expensive and put together are also amazing ways to shift your identity and manifest a more abundant lifestyle.
3. Shift your identity by changing the way you speak
Ask yourself how would the person who has what I want talk? If your goal is to have a better, professional career for example…how would she talk? Eg. With confidence, know what she’s talking about, she’d speak with authority and be graceful.
Watch videos of people who have the things, job, life you want and see how they talk. Take note of some of their choices of words, mannerisms etc. and see if you can implement some into the way you speak.
You still want to be authentically YOU, but little uplevels to the way you speak and do things can really help you shift into the life you want.
4. Change what you consume.
(Music, tv, podcasts, food, etc. everything that doesn’t make you feel good) The phrase “You are what you eat.” is more true than most realize.
Not only in regards to what we physically eat but everything we consume. If you only consume negative news, tv shows, music, junk food etc. you are naturally going to feel negative and crappy.
Of course, the opposite is also true. When we are mindful of what we consume within our environment we are in control of how we feel, act and think. Consume positive, uplifting, motivational content!
You are being programmed all day, every day. You can’t stop it, but you can determine if the programming is positive or negative.

5. Change your environment
…this one can be more difficult for some people. it doesn’t have to be as dramatic as moving to a new house or city. You can make small changes like getting rid of clutter, re-decorating your space to make you feel mo aligned to the person you want to be.
I’m sure you see the re-occurring pattern here…CHANGE. You need to change in order to create a new experience. It’s impossible to create lasting change doing the same things you’ve been doing in the reality in which you don’t want to be in.
“When you would like to change your body or change your world, rather than feeling what you don’t have, feel as if it’s already happened.”
Everything is energy and electromagnetic signals. Your brain sends electromagnetic signals to your body and vice versa in order to function. So it would make sense if your electromagnetic signals from your brain and feeling states can affect other experiences and the rest of the world which is also electromagnetic and energy.
An experience is neither good nor bad until we judge the experience. It is our perception that gives the experience it’s meaning.
