We all know the last 2 years have been pretty crazy and difficult for a lot of people. I don’t know about you, but I am so ready to make 2022 a great year and let’s face it, after the last 2 years the only direction to go is up. To make it the best year, we should decide on some goals to set in 2022.
This post is all about goals to set in 2022. Let’s make 2022 our best year yet!
Goals to Set In 2022 for your…
Mind
1. Invest in yourself!
Whether it is in a course to learn something you’re curious about or starting a new hobby. Investing in yourself is so important!
2. Learn something new.
Learn something new that interests you. Take a blogging course and start a blog. Learn how to make candles or soap or some other type of craft. Whatever you are interested in or think you might like, try it out and learn something new this year.
3. Prioritize your mental health.
Set some goals that prioritize your mental health and wellness! Identify things that are stressing you out, causing anxiety, etc. and work to eliminate them. It could be adding meditation, breathing exercises, and anything that helps you relax.
Stop feeling guilty about taking time to take care of your mental health! We only get one life.
4. Have a social media detox.
We all know by now, I think, that social media is fake and can really screw up our body image and confidence. Take a break from it, unfollow people that make you compare yourself or your life. (It has nothing to do with them, you can adore the person, but if their content is causing you to compare or feel bad about yourself, mute or unfollow!)
Media detox in general! The media is constantly toxic and negative. Don’t feel bad turning it off and forgetting about the outside world for a bit.
5. Read motivational or inspirational book(s).
Suggestions for books to read:
The Game of Life and How to Play It – Florence Scovel Shinn
The Complete Works of Florence Scovel Shinn
Rich Dad, Poor Dad
Meditations of Marcus Aurelius
6. Start a daily gratitude journal.
You can start by writing down three things each day that you are grateful for.
7. Try meditation.
For people that can’t seem to shut off their mind (like me), meditation can be really helpful to be more present and focused. I like to do walking meditations because I find it super hard to sit and meditate.
8. Say daily positive affirmations.
Remind yourself how much you are capable of and boost your confidence with some positive affirmations. 2022 is the year to get our minds into a positive place so we can all thrive.
9. Create morning and evening routines.
Having routines can take some of the stress out of your day and focus your priorities. Don’t forget to have some time in your routine for yourself.
10. Kick a bad habit and pick up a positive habit.
Pick one bad habit you want to stop and replace it with a good one. For example, instead of your afternoon chocolate bar you could go for a walk instead. Etc.
11. Spend more time in nature.
Get more fresh air and natural sunlight each day.
Body
12. Drink more water.
No really! Everyone says how essential it is but so many people still neglect this super important tip! (I am calling myself out on this one) Your skin, body, and mind will all thank you.
13. Create a workout routine.
Commit to exercise and moving your body. Set a goal to get your body moving in some way every single day. You don’t have to work out everyday, if that’s not something you can do, but you can take some time to stretch or walk. A little movement each day can be very beneficial.
14. Try a stretching routine.
Lots of people neglect to stretch their body, which can cause tense muscles, aches and pains. Try stretching daily.
15. Eat a healthier diet.
Remember that every small change you make counts in the big picture! You can start off by eliminating something unhealthy and adding in something good for you. Make a meal plan to make it easier to stick to a healthier diet
16. Develop a better sleep schedule.
Get adequate sleep! I know it’s hard, especially if you have kids and a job and whatever else going on. Try to eliminate distractions before bed and get to bed earlier.
Soul
17. Do something nice for someone in need.
It feels so good to do something nice for someone else.
18. Donate to a good cause that you feel aligned with.
If you don’t have much money to spare you can always donate your time through volunteering. We tend to get so caught up in our own lives, it can be really powerful to give back to others who are in need and take some time to be grateful for what we have.
19. Journal
It can help you to really get clear on what you want for your life and the direction you want to go in. If you don’t know what to write about you could try journal prompts or gratitude journaling.
20. Be more mindful and present.
Start living more mindfully and enjoying life right now!
21. Slow down and enjoy the little things.
Take some time to relax, turn off the constant bombardment of fear and negativity on the news and simply enjoy the little happy moments you have right now, no matter how small.
22. Be Authentically you!
Be true to yourself. Is there something you’ve been avoiding doing because you’re worried what other people might think? Or maybe there’s something you’ve been going along with, that you don’t actually agree with. Start living your own life and be true to yourself.
Many of us have basically had our lives on hold for the last 2 years. Let’s make 2022 our year, to get back to our lives, enjoy our time here on earth and be happy.
This post was all about goals to set in 2022. I hope you feel inspired to make this year amazing!
