It’s no secret here and in the community of people who study the law of attraction that your feelings and emotions hold the secret to your success with manifestation. Today I’m going to share some amazing ways to instantly boost your mood.
With that said we are humans and we feel human emotions, which sometimes can suck. Everyone is going to feel negative emotions from time to time, it’s not about avoiding the bad feelings all together but working through them!
Here are the 11 ways to boost your mood so you can go back to manifesting the life you love and feeling your best!
Let’s get to it…
We all have those days when we just don’t feel like ourselves. Whether it’s because of work, family issues or a specific problem you’re dealing with, our mood can swing dramatically.
Lucky for us there are ways to boost your mood instantly and get back on track in no time. So here are some easy ways to take care of yourself and make yourself feel better quickly.
1. Reflect on your Feelings
It can be hard when you’re in a bad mood or feeling negative emotions to want to do anything. Trust me, I am the QUEEN of napping to avoid…well, anything that sucks.
The first thing you need to do to boost your mood FAST is reflect. What is making you feel bad in this moment and what can you do to shift that?
In the world of positivity and manifestation we can sometimes get the message that we need to avoid or ignore our negative emotions. THIS IS NOT TRUE! We need to learn how to feel, reflect and let those feelings go.
Figure out what you are feeling and why so you can process and move on.
2. Give yourself a compliment
You might feel weird giving yourself compliments. We tend to speak harshly to ourselves but once you take a step back and evaluate how your inner voice speaks to you, it’s simple to shift!
You might be wondering “how the heck do I give myself a compliment, what do I even compliment myself on?”
How to give yourself a compliment is simple and the more you practice the more natural it will feel. Start by noticing when you do something well, if you notice your hair looks nice…allow yourself to compliment it!
It’s strange that we usually have no problem giving out compliments to others but when it comes to acknowledging ourselves we get weird about it.
You can also use positive affirmations and place them where you will be reminded of them often-like on your mirror or in your car.
Positive affirmations can help build self-esteem and increase confidence which are important for reducing stress levels. If you have trouble believing the compliments, try using phrases like: “I can” instead of I can’t; “I am” vs. “I’m not”; “I do” vs. “I didn’t.”

3. Call someone you love
The simplest of all the strategies is calling someone you love. The act of talking with a person who cares about you, whether it be a close friend, family member or partner, will help boost your mood and ease stress.
There are many ways to use this strategy:
- Call someone and share your thoughts and feelings with them. This is especially helpful if you have been feeling down lately and need to vent about something that’s bothering you. You might not even realize how much it would mean for the other person to listen until they actually do listen!
- Ask your loved one(s) how their day was going so far. Sometimes just knowing that someone else has gone through similar experiences helps us feel less alone in our struggles; we can also appreciate how far each other has come since then or what we’ve managed to accomplish thus far!
- Even reaching out to a friend or family member you haven’t spoken to in a while and catching up can be super beneficial in boosting your mood.
4. Do one thing right now that makes you feel good.
You can boost your mood by doing something that makes you feel good, however small or insignificant it may seem. For example:
- Singing in the shower
- Taking a walk around the block or on a trail
- Writing a thank-you note to someone who has been kind to you recently — even if they don’t know about it and aren’t expecting anything from you
- Start a gratitude journal and write down 5 things you are grateful for
- Even a cup of your favourite coffee can give you a mood boost
5. Dance to your favorite song
There truly is something therapeutic about dancing to a song. Put on your fave tune and dance like noone is watching.
If you’re like me and you wouldn’t be caught dead dancing by other humans…find a private space and let loose lol
Dancing to your favorite song will help shift your mood quickly and bring your focus to good feelings and emotions.
Moving in general will help release endorphins and those happy chemicals. So find a song that makes you feel happy, energized or sexy…whatever vibe you’re going for and dance your way to some happiness.
6. Write down 10 things you appreciate in your life
If you’re having a bad day, try this simple exercise: grab a pen and paper, and write down 10 things that make you happy. If you can’t think too of anything right now, don’t worry. Just keep writing until your list is full. You may be surprised by how much better you feel after doing this exercise!
There are many benefits to keeping a gratitude journal or notebook in general. Writing down 10 things that make us happy helps us appreciate the small joys in life more fully—and it’s also been shown to increase our overall happiness levels over time!
7. Spritz a little lavender oil on your pillow
Lavender is known for its calming scent. Since lavender oil has a pleasant smell and studies have shown it can help you sleep better, it’s a perfect way to relax and boost your mood when you are stressed.
You can use it on your pillow at bedtime or diffuse some in the air while you work!
8. Meditate
Meditation is a great way to relax and unwind. There are so many benefits to meditation!
Practicing meditation can help you to feel more relaxed, calm and more focused.
Meditation can help you to feel more positive and happy. There are different ways of meditating, such as guided meditation, listening to music while meditating or simply sitting in silence.
Walking meditations and guided meditations are some of my favourites.
You could even try meditating with others or by yourself; either way will be beneficial! Music while you meditate can also help with relaxation: it makes us feel like we’re on vacation somewhere beautiful that’s far away from the stresses of everyday life.
9. Give someone a hug
Give someone a hug. This is a simple, yet effective way to boost your mood instantly. Hugs release oxytocin and make you feel better in just 20 seconds!
Sounds funny but hear me out…Rub your belly and pat yourself on the back (or pat your cat). Studies have shown that rubbing your tummy can reduce stress by 50%. Patting yourself on the back helps release endorphins, which are known to make you feel good.
Give someone a compliment or say something nice. Giving someone positive feedback can really lift their spirits—and yours too!
10. Make a list of everything you’ve accomplished in the past week
Next time you’re feeling down, take a few minutes to list everything you’ve accomplished in the past week. Write down how each accomplishment makes you feel. If it’s something big and important, think about all the effort that went into achieving it, and how proud of yourself this makes you feel.
We often write down these crazy to-do lists with a million and one things and then at the end of the week we see all the things we didn’t complete rather than focusing on everything that we have!
If it was just a small thing like checking off an item on your to-do list or getting through a tough day at work without losing your cool (and there were many), note how good it felt to get through something challenging without too much difficulty.
This exercise is great for boosting mood because by focusing on what we are capable of doing rather than what we aren’t able to do or haven’t done yet (or even better) leads us toward feeling more positive about ourselves as individuals and helps increase our self-esteem which naturally plays into our happiness levels!
11. Go for a walk
Go outside and get some fresh air to clear your mind and give yourself an instant mood boost.
Try walking meditations or simply put on your headphones and take a nice walk outside, noticing all the little details and breathing in fresh air.
Benefits of quick self care to boost your mood:
Self care is important, and can help you feel better:
- Self care can make you feel more confident. The most important benefit of self-care is that it helps you feel more confident, especially when you are feeling down or anxious.
- When someone feels good about themselves, they project this onto others, which makes them more likely to get the best out of any social situation they may find themselves in (and also gives them an advantage over those who don’t).
- Self-care improves your productivity at work: If a person is frazzled and stressed out all day at work because they didn’t sleep well last night or had a stressful morning commute, then their performance will be affected by this as well as how happy they feel overall during their working hours.
- If however a person has had time for some quick self-care (e.g., having a hot shower before starting work), then this will increase their energy levels and improve concentration levels so that everything gets done quicker with less mistakes made along the way!
Conclusion
We all experience negative moods but you don’t need to let yourself get stuck there! Follow these tips to boost your mood instantly and start feeling better fast.
Our emotions and moods are in our control and when we fully grasp onto this fact and start actively working to shift our moods we are able to start creating a better life filled with what we want. The way to get more of what we want in our lives and create a life we want is to keep our vibes high!
It’s also important to remember that self-care doesn’t have to be complicated—sometimes just taking a few moments out of your day to acknowledge these positive feelings will help boost your mood.
