Guide to Self-Love for Singles on Valentine’s Day
Being single on Valentine’s Day is no big deal! Instead of focusing on being single, try showing yourself some love instead! Try these ideas for practicing self-love when you’re single on Valentine’s Day.
Be your own Valentine.
Self-Love Ideas for Valentine’s Day
1. Solo Date
Why not treat yourself to your favourite dinner or a movie. If you don’t want to sit alone in a restaurant, order take out and make a nice space to eat your favourite dinner at home.
Watch your favourite movie or rent a movie you’ve been wanting to see.
2. Pamper Yourself
Give yourself a spa day. Book a massage, or give yourself some TLC with an at home “spa” experience.
Create a calm, peaceful space and just let yourself relax. Enjoy whatever it is that makes you feel pampered.
If you’re stuck for ideas try:
- Facial steam and face mask
- Bubble bath (put on some calming music or affirmations)
- Give yourself a mani-pedi
- Moisturize with your favourite lotion
Do whatever makes you feel beautiful and puts you in a peaceful state.
3. Spend Time in Nature
Find a nature trail, or walk somewhere peaceful and get away from the hustle of the day to day. Listen to your favourite podcast or music that makes you feel good. Enjoy the natural beauty of the world.
4. Create a Vision Board
Create a vision board with all of the things you want to accomplish for this year. Use images and words that will inspire you.
Really feel into and visualize your best life. How would that version of you feel, act, be, talk etc.?
Be creative and let go of any beliefs that are holding you back.
Put your vision board somewhere you can look at it every day. This will serve as a reminder that you CAN and WILL achieve your goals.
You can have all that you want, have faith in yourself and use this vision board as a boost of inspiration and motivation.
5. Listen/Recite Positive Affirmations
Remind yourself of your worth and beauty. Positive affirmations will give you a boost of confidence and make you feel like the badass you are.

6. Make Time for your Hobbies
Do you love to read, but never have time to? Or are you creative and enjoy doing crafty projects? Whatever the hell it is, make the time to do whatever it is you enjoy and do it guilt free.
7. Celebrate Non-Romantic Relationships
Hangout with a friend, visit your parents, your siblings, your pet. Romantic partners aren’t the only loving relationships we have. Plus, these relationships are often more important than having someone to “date”.
Celebrate all the love you have in your life.
8. Treat yourself
You don’t need someone else to give you flowers and chocolate. Gift yourself something you’ve been wanting. Buy yourself flowers!
YOU are all you need to create the happiest, most fulfilling life you want to live.
Final Thoughts
Screw the idea that it’s “sad” and “lonely” to be single. Society tries to make us, (women especially) feel guilty or ashamed for just about everything. From the way we look, if we are over 30 and don’t have kids, what we wear, our jobs etc.
You don’t have to conform to what society tells you to do, think, act, say, be etc.
Be your own woman and own it with confidence! Be your own Valentine and practice self-love whether you’re single on Valentine’s Day…or not.
I hope you were inspired to practice some self-love when you’re single on Valentine’s Day. Leave any suggestions you have for self-love or how to spend Valentine’s Day when you’re single.
