I personally feel like my life finally starts up again when the snow has melted and there are signs of new life. I can finally shake off the cold, pack up my winter boots, cross my fingers and hope there isn’t a random snowfall…(thanks Canada) and set new personal growth goals. Remember self-care isn’t always face masks and bubble baths (although, those are important too). In order to put my best foot forward and start off right I have a top 5 spring self-care essentials that help me look and feel my best, and start fresh. Let’s get right to it…
1. Declutter and clean your space
Spring cleaning is so important. You need a clear physical space in order to have a clear mindset. Get rid of things you don’t need and minimize visual clutter! Put away your winter clothes, shoes and anything out of season.
Clean your car, your home, your work space, your drawers and you’ll be amazed how refreshed and great you feel. Plus, once the spaces you spend your time in are fresh and cleared you are better able to make a fresh start and implement changes, with your renewed space, comes renewed inspiration to become the best you.
2. Mental declutter
Just like we all have that space in our house that becomes a catch-all for clutter and random things, our minds tend to collect a lot of clutter too. Spring is the perfect time to break out some of the spring self-care essentials and start moving towards feeling our best inside and out.
Ways to Declutter your mind :

- stop multitasking and focus on one thing at a time
- keep a schedule and stick to it
- get off social media/news/etc. limit the amount of info you’re constantly being exposed to

Disconnect from the rest of the busy world for a bit and reconnect with nature. The simple beauty of nature is calming and revitalizing. It really helps you get a fresh perspective on things once you spend some relaxing time, decompressing in nature.
Take a walk, go on a hike, sit by a lake, stream or pond. You can even sit in your garden.
4. Refresh and revitalize your body
Spring is time to shed the old and start fresh. This includes taking care of your body. Some ways that you can refresh and feel revitalized with your physical body are:
- Exfoliate your entire body and feel the fresh, soft new skin.
- Moisturize your entire body (if you’re super fair skinned (like me) you can start using a gradual self-tanner lotion) my favorite is jergens
- manicure/pedicure (exfoliate those dry hands and feet and give yourself a fresh, spring polish
- Face mask
- Start a Gua-Sha facial routine
5. Closet clearout and revamp
When you look your best, you can feel your best. Start fresh inside and out with a new look or just an update.
